Friendship's
Influence on Self-Esteem Results
Mark W. Dickey, Toni Nelson, Stephanie Potter
Results
A Pearson correlation addressed the relationship between friendship
quality (M = 6.59, SD = 1.86) and level of self-esteem (M = 17.07,
SD = 4.54). For an alpha level of .01, the correlation between friendship
quality and self-esteem level was found to be statistically significant,
r(151) = 1.00, p < .01. This indicates that friendship quality
and level of self esteem are positively related.
As hypothesized, the correlation quality of friendship and self-esteem
was highly significant.
