Undergraduate Internship Information
The Department of Psychology offers an internship in Psychology
which allows students an opportunity to apply what they’ve
learned in classroom during a practical learning experience in the
community. The internship is a great opportunity to develop skills
as well as to gain experience in a particular field. Internships
are often helpful in exploring various career paths and clarifying
educational and vocational goals.
Students may receive academic credit for completing
an internship by enrolling in PSY476 Apprenticeship in Psychology.
To enroll in PSY476, you must be a Junior or Senior and have completed
15 hours of psychology coursework, including PSY100 General Psychology,
and PSY200 Advanced General Psychology. Also, no student may take
more than six (6) hours of PSY 476.
Internships can be completed at a number of agencies,
including agencies in Hays or in other communities. Listed below
are agencies that have accepted Interns in the past. If you would
like to complete an internship, please read the course syllabus
to learn about course requirements. You should contact the faculty
member assigned to the PSY 476 Apprenticeship in Psychology course
and discuss your ideas regarding possible internships. You can also
contact agencies yourself to explore whether an internship at their
agency is a possibility.

syllabus is available here.
