Experiential Learning in Psychology
Experiential learning (i.e., hands on learning) means that you'll not only learn how to analyze and understand the mind through classroom study, but you'll have a variety of opportunities to apply that classroom learning in real world, hands-on situations.
And guiding that experiential learning is our faculty-committed teachers and mentors who are eager to help you with exceptional (and highly personalized) teaching and advising.
Here are some of the opportunities you'll have to make the most of your study of psychology at FHSU:
- Complete extensive research work with qualified staff members
- Engage in local internships with community agencies
- Conduct actual, ongoing research at local state hospitals
- Get to meet working psychologists through guest speakers program
- Meet peers and network with businesses by attending state and national conferences
- Utilize the department's advanced computer technology for further research
- Participate in service projects to share and give back to the community
- Visit clinical practice locations for a hands-on look at how an actual site operates
