Dear Heather Hall Residents,
Hello and welcome to the second floor of Heather Hall! I am Jobeth Nozicka and I hope that you all are having a splendid summer! At the end of the summer, you will be moving into the wonderful new world of community living! I will be your Resident Assistant (RA) for the upcoming year. A little background information on me…I am from North Platte, NE and will be a junior majoring in Chemistry in the Pre-Optometry program. I have one younger sister who will be a junior in high school. In North Platte, I work at a sports store and a Husker store (it is sort of a two-in-one deal) and I volunteer at the hospital. I am obsessed with the show Bones, Castle and practically every kind of cookie.
Enough about me, the real excitement is going to be getting to know you. If this will be your first time in the residential halls, I know that it can be scary, but my job as your RA is to help you make an easy transition and adjust to your new environment and all the new people you will meet. I know I was a little scared when I first moved in, but I learned to love the residential life. For others, this may be his or her second, third, or even last year on campus. Not only are you able to be involved in several clubs and activities on campus, but in the hall we will have programs that Hall Council will put on and I will put on floor activities that are easy to be a part of and can be super fun too. There will even be building programs and programs held with Agnew Hall that you could drag your friends along too. I mean, who doesn’t love a movie night?! Although you will be living with two or three other people, I highly encourage you to get out and meet your neighbors and others in the Tiger Place Suites.
If you have any questions or concerns before you get to campus, I encourage you to look me up on Facebook, send me a message, call me, text me, email me…whatever you prefer, and I will try to answer any questions you may have. Also, if you prefer a name other than your legal name, please let me know before August 1st. (Have to get door decorations made!) Once you are on campus, you can stop by my room at any time to ask questions or chitchat. As the semester goes on, you will hopefully get to know everyone on the floor and will be able to make lasting friendships and will be able to not only count on me, but your friends that you have met within the Hall. Enjoy the rest of the summer and I look forward to seeing you when you move in!
