Fort Hays State University > About FHSU > Division of Student Affairs > Residential Life > Residential Communities > Daniel Hill Welcome Letter
My name is Daniel Hill and I will be your 5th floor west McMindes Residential Assistant (RA) for the upcoming year. I am from Franklin, Nebraska and I am a junior at Fort Hays State University. I am studying to get my Bachelors of Music Education. My job, as your RA, is to make your stay here in McMindes Hall a great experience by ensuring that everything goes well on our floor and our hall. Some of my duties involve programming that focus on social, educational, and diverse opportunities. In a nut shell I am here to help you have fun!
If you are apprehensive about coming to Fort Hays from home, do not worry, I felt the same way. The transition can be difficult to adjust to, with all new people and surroundings. This is what I am here for. I am here to help you adjust to college life. I highly recommend getting involved right away when you get to Fort Hays. This is the best way to meet new people and to make new friends. There are dozens of organizations and extracurricular activities that you can get involved in. If you want to practice shooting, join the trap team. If you are looking for a degree in the sciences, join Chem Club. Or, if you want to become a leader in the residential halls, join the McMindes Hall Council!
We have a lot of fun stuff planned right out of the gate to help you meet a bunch of people from all over. I can’t wait to meet all of you and I’m looking forward to this year with you all!
