Hailee's Welcome Letter

Hailee SchlachterWelcome to Fort Hays State University! My name is Hailee Schlachter and I will be your lovely Resident Assistant (RA) for the upcoming year. My hometown is Bennington, Ks and I’m a currently a sophomore here at Fort Hays. As an RA, my job is to welcome you all to Fort Hays State University and make sure that everything goes well on our floor and in our hall. My job will consist of planning different types of programs that will be educational and also fun for all of you to enjoy.

If you are anything like I was when coming into my freshman year, you might be feeling scared, nervous, excited, and maybe even a little overwhelmed. I remember being nervous to leave my family behind as I started on the journey to a new experience. The transition will be difficult at first, but before you know it you will have more friends than you could ever imagine. Hopefully our floor will become your new home away from home. Also, there’s no reason to worry because I will be there to help all of you adjust to the college life.

If you have any questions what so ever about move in day or anything in general, please feel free to call me at any time. You can reach me by cell phone or email during anytime throughout the day. My email is I will also be making you girl’s door decors for your room and if you by any chance have a nickname or different name you may go by, please let me know as soon as possible. Fort Hays State has planned several fun activities for all you to participate in and I know you will all have a blast! I’m beyond excited to meet all of you! So, fasten your seat belts ladies because once you get to Fort Hays State University, you won’t want to leave! Go Tigers!!!
