Fort Hays State University > About FHSU > Division of Student Affairs > Residential Life > Residential Communities > Kylie Metzger Welcome Letter
My name is Kylie Metzger and I am so excited to be your Resident Assistant this year on 6th Floor Wiest! My hometown is Salina, Kansas, and this will be my second year at Fort Hays. I am a double major in English and Secondary Education, and I hope to teach high school someday. I am involved in Fort Hays Honor Society, Distinguished Scholars Program, Christian Challenge, and Residence Hall Association. I absolutely love FHSU and I hope you will too.
I know the transition from high school to college can me nerve-wracking, and it is part of my job to make that transition easier for incoming students. My biggest piece of advice is to jump right in and get involved as soon as you can. Unlike high school, it is very difficult to meet people in class, so the best way to make friends is to get involved in extra-curricular activities, and there are an abundance of these at FHSU! If you are a returning student – Welcome Back! You can also be a huge resource to confused Freshmen. This will be my first year living in a residence hall and my first year as an RA, so I’m new too. Last year I lived in Stadium Place Apartments, which is just right across the street from Wiest Hall. I am looking forward to be in the dorms with you guys this year! If you have not done so already, I would encourage you to get started looking to see where would be the cheapest place to order your books, and order them.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. My email is email@example.com or look me up on Facebook. I look forward to welcoming you to Hays! If you prefer to go by anything other than your legal name, please shoot me an email before August 10th so that I can prepare for your coming.
Enjoy the rest of your summer!
