Residence Halls

Academic Support:
Residential life communities are designed to foster academic success. Staff members are prepared to connect residents with a variety of academic support resources. One such resource is the residence-hall based "At Home" (in Hall) peer tutoring program.

Housekeeping:
Mom is not around to clean up anymore; however, the bathrooms, lounges, hallways, and other common areas are maintained by professional housekeeping staff Monday through Friday (except holidays). Students are responsible for keeping their rooms clean and in good order. Light housekeeping equipment is available in each hall. The University provides a bed, desk, study chair, chest-of-drawers or wardrobe and window blind. Personal furnishings may be added consistent with hall policy.

Movie Channel and Bulletin Board:
Channel 21 of the cable television service in each room is the University movie channel and public bulletin board. the movies shown are selected by the Residence Hall Association. Channel 21 also features educational programming along with special events.

Free Internet:
Each residence hall contains a computer lab complete with printer. Each room is connected to the Internet. The majority of our rooms now feature wireless internet, as well.

Telephone Service:
A telephone, local service, voice mail and Caller ID are provided in each room at no extra charge. Students may initiate long distance calls either by calling collect or by using a telephone calling card.

Free Cable Television:
Basic cable television service, plus Black Entertainment Television and Univision, are provided in each room of all residence halls at no extra charge.

Cooking:
Kitchenettes and microwave ovens are located in several areas of each residence hall. Personal cooking appliances, including small microwaves are allowed, consistent with hall policy. Extensive cooking in rooms is not allowed.

Bunk and Loft Kits:
Bunk and loft kits are only available for the first 30 days of each semester.
