Stadium Place Apartments

Stadium Place Apartments

Realizing that times have changed, Fort Hays State University, in concert with Uniplace LLC, has designed style, comfort and durability into each apartment to better accommodate today’s students. Each occupant has his/her own bedroom and shares a bath with only one other person. Each apartment is fully furnished, including the living room, bedrooms, dining area and a fully accessorized kitchen.

The University is now taking applications from those single students, married couples, faculty and staff meeting eligibility requirements. Stadium Place truly represents the wave of the future for on-campus living.

Accommodations

Stadium Place bedroomBoth two bedroom and four bedroom apartments are available. The apartments are designed to accommodate one person per bedroom. Assignments are single gender by apartment and are made available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Married couples must lease both bedrooms of a two bedroom apartment. Two separate married couples could lease all four bedrooms of a four bedroom apartment.

The University will attempt to match residents for an apartment; however, students are strongly encouraged to apply for an apartment in groups of either two or four. Preference will be given to applicants who apply together. Students who wish to share an apartment should apply together and indicate each other as their roommates of choice on their applications. Each resident of Stadium Place will sign an individual contract with Fort Hays State University.Stadium Place Kitchen and Living Room

Kitchen Package – Service for four in the 2-bedroom apartments and service for eight in the 4-bedroom apartments. Kitchen packages include pots, pans, toaster, coffee pot and all the basic needs for a comfortable lifestyle.

Each apartment has an independent climate control system, water heater, and clothes washer and dryer. Windows are finished with venetian blinds.

Furnishings

Each apartment is fully furnished. Residents may bring as many of their own belongingsas they wish; however no University furnishings may be removed from an apartment.

Residents are expected to abide by all Federal, State and local laws and ordinances, and all policies established by Fort Hays State University, including those contained in the Student Code of Conduct and the Stadium Place Handbook.

The apartments are smoke free. Smoking is not allowed either inside the apartments or outside on porches and stairwells.

Data and Phone
Direct connection to the Ethernet server University is in place at no extra charge. Telephone service can be connected for a $30 monthly charge and includes local calling, voice mail and caller ID. Residents may initiate long distance calls either by calling “collect” or using a calling card.

Meal Plans
Apartment residents may purchase a meal plan through the Office of Student Residential Life. All meal plans are useable in either McMindes Dining Hall or the Union Station.Stadium Place apartment

Cable Television
Basic cable television service, plus Black Entertainment Television and Univision are furnished to each apartment at no charge. Residents may contract individually with Eagle Communications, a local cable company, for premium channel service.

Mail
Mail delivery is to individual apartment boxes, located in the Stadium Place complex.

Utilities
Permanent connections are in place for all utilities.


Parking
Each resident wishing to park a vehicle on campus must purchase a reserved parking permit from the University Police. Consult the University “Traffic and Parking Regulations” brochure for additional information.

Maintenance
The apartments are completely maintained by the University. Maintenance work will be performed promptly and professionally. Repair requests should be placed with the Office of Student Residential Life, Room 114 Agnew Hall, 785.628.4245, srl@fhsu.edu.

The term “maintenance” includes painting and repairs of every sort but it does not include housekeeping. The residents of each apartment are responsible for their own housekeeping.

Trash Removal and Pest Control

Trash dumpsters and recycling bins are centrally located in the apartment complex area. Recycling bins are for clean paper and cardboard only. Pest control for insects and rodents is supplied to the University on a contract basis. Residents are encouraged to request service promptly if it is needed by contacting the Office of Student Residential Life, Room 114 Agnew Hall, 785.628.4245, srl@fhsu.edu.
Stadium Place Eligibility Requirements
The Stadium Place Apartments are available to all University students, faculty and staff, and their families. Student Residents must be enrolled for a minimum of twelve (12) undergraduate hours or six (6) graduate hours each semester. Married couples are welcome so long as one of the parties meets the eligibility requirements.
The developer reserves the right to substitute materials, equipment, and appliances of equal or greater quality and the right to make changes in plans and specifications as advisable to assure satisfactory and timely completion of the SP Apartments.

Stadium Place is a partnership venture between the University and Uniplace, LLC, a private housing development company.
