Welcome to our Science and Mathematics Education Institute web site. This Institute is the brainchild of Dr. Paul Adams, Anchutz Professor of Education and Professor of Physics. The Institute grew out of a desire to improve science and math education for the western Kansas community. This includes improving the education of K-12 and college students, as well as improving the scientific literacy of the general populace. Keep an eye on this site to see how we will accomplish these goals.

GLOBE Students in France and the U.S. Expand Collaborative Activities

In February 2008 Dr. Paul Adams, Ms. Kathy Rome (Bison, Kansas) and Dr. Dianne Robinson (Hampton University) traveled to France to work with Danielle De Staerke, Director of Education at CNES and GLOBE France Country Coordinator, and her team of scientists and educators. While visiting the schools, the three presented information on the CALIPSO satellite and guided the students through activities related to aerosols.

The first in the Science Lecture Series was held October 27th in Tomanek Hall. The topic presented was "Pluto: 2B or Not 2B" by Ken Trantham. The audio podcast is available on the Podcast page.
