Senior Companion Services

Senior Companions assist their adult clients in basic, but essential ways including:

Provide encouragement, grief support, and reality orientation/awareness
Provide respite care for family caregivers
Assist with reading, writing letters, phone calls and correspondence, and paying bills
Accompany and assist with grocery shopping, running errands
Accompany or arrange for client transportation to appointments
Assist in monitoring medications
Assist in meal planning and preparation
Assist with light housekeeping, i.e. washing dishes, making beds, laundry
Assist with walking, getting to bathroom, exercising
Accompany client to nutrition site
Encourage and assist with grooming, hair care, make-up and dressing if needed

Companions are not permitted to perform heavy housekeeping functions or services involving medical knowledge or attendant care.
