Senior Companion Services

Senior Companions assist their adult clients in basic, but essential ways including: 

  • Provide encouragement, grief support, and reality orientation/awareness
  • Provide respite care for family caregivers
  • Assist with reading, writing letters, phone calls and correspondence, and paying bills
  • Accompany and assist with grocery shopping, running errands
  • Accompany or arrange for client transportation to appointments
  • Assist in monitoring medications
  • Assist in meal planning and preparation
  • Assist with light housekeeping, i.e. washing dishes, making beds, laundry
  • Assist with walking, getting to bathroom, exercising
  • Accompany client to nutrition site
  • Encourage and assist with grooming, hair care, make-up and dressing if needed

** This list is not all-inclusive 

Companions are not permitted to perform heavy housekeeping functions or services involving medical knowledge or attendant care.
