Donors may provide financial assistance in the form
of scholarship for enrolled students at Fort Hays State University.
FHSU processes all scholarships in accordance with established
policy and procedures.
- Checks should be made payable to
Fort Hays State University (do not make co-payable to the student
and the University). Since scholarship funds are applied automatically
by a computer program, direct contact with the student is not
made. Any special donor requirements such as signed documents,
proof of grades, etc. must be handled by the donor with the
individual recipient.
- Funds should be sent at least 10 days prior to
the start of the semester. FHSU cannot defer tuition payment based
on scholarship funds that have not been forwarded to the University.
- Funds are applied to all outstanding institutional
charges first: tuition, residential life, and miscellaneous fees.
Books are not included as institutional charges.
- If a student does not enroll or does not meet full-time
eligibility requirements, the funds will be returned to the donor
unless the donor has requested that funds be released for less
than full-time status.
- Specify the amount that is included and to which
semester the aid applies. Funds are accepted for a maximum of
one academic year at a time-Fall, Spring, Summer.
- If excess funds are available after payment of
institutional costs, the funds are deposited to the student's
University debit card account. Funds are not held on account for
the student for future semesters.
- Scholarship donations are accepted in the form
of check or money orders. Stock funds and bonds cannot be cashed
and held on account.
Funds should be sent directly to:
