General Information
You must contact our office if:

• You have a change in enrollment status (either leaving FHSU, dropping below half time, graduating, or returning to FHSU after an absence).
• You change your name, address, phone number, or social security number.
• You need to request forms.
• You are unable to make payments.

While you are still a student:

• If you are awarded a Federal Perkins loan for the new school year, you are required to complete on-line entrance counseling as well as sign and return your master promissory note. Failure to do so will delay disbursement of your funds.
• While you are in school at least half time your loans will be deferred. If you are attending a school other than FHSU it is YOUR responsibility to notify the SFS office.

After you leave school:

• Every Federal Perkins Student Loan borrower must complete on-line Exit counseling. Failure to do so will result in a hold placed on your transcript.

While you are in repayment:

• Payments can be mailed to:

• Payments are due on the 15th of the month.
• Late charges are assessed on the 16th of the month.
• If you are unable to make payments, you may be eligible for deferment benefits. A full list of deferment requirements is available at our Deferment/Cancellation page.
• Borrowers may set up automatic loan payments through SFS's ACH system. Click here for more information about the ACH system.
