University Foundation Loans

The University Foundation generously supports the FHSU Department of Nursing and Department of Allied Health by offering two loan programs:  the Drury Loan and the Hadley Foundation Nursing Fellowship Loan. Both loans are managed by Student Fiscal Services. 

 

Drury Loan

The Drury Loan was established through a bequest from Bert E. and Susie Drury, formerly of Hill City, Kansas. The purpose of this endowment loan fund is to help educate young people who wish to study and work in the medical field, particularly in the cancer field.

The Drury Loan is available to students admitted in the following programs:

  • Undergraduate Nursing Program
  • Graduate Nursing Program
  • Medical Diagnostic Imaging Program
  • Radiologic Technology Program

You must have at least a 2.0 GPA. The loan has an interest rate of 1%.

Student Fiscal Services has partnered with Educational Computer Systems, Inc. (ECSI) to administer the Drury Loan Program. ECSI provides convenient repayment options, Automated Direct Payment and online debit/credit card options.

 

Hadley Foundation Nursing Fellowship Loan

The Hadley Foundation Nursing Fellowship Loan is available to full-time students admitted into one of the Nursing programs in the Department of Nursing. The funding levels are:

  • Junior Standing - $2,500 maximum per academic year ($1,250 per semester)
  • Senior Standing - $5,000 maximum per academic year ($2,500 per semester)

You must have at least a 3.0 GPA. The loan has an interest rate of 5%. This loan program has a 30- to 45-day repayment grace period; read your promissory note carefully concerning your grace period.

Student Fiscal Services has partnered with Educational Computer Systems, Inc. (ECSI) to administer the Hadley Foundation Nursing Fellowship Loan Program. ECSI provides convenient repayment options, Automated Direct Payment and online debit/credit card options.

The Hadley Foundation Nursing Fellowship Loan Program includes a loan forgiveness provision for full-time employees of Hays Medical Center, Hays, Kansas (or regional hospital selected by HMC).
