Sociology Club

Welcome!
Fort Hays State has a very active sociology club.
We feel it is important to help others in our community and our
world. We undertake several service activities every year such as
Breakfast with Santa to help raise money for the Make a Wish Foundation
in Kansas; Hays community service day; and the selling of Christmas
tree ornaments crafted by the Kenietze Alaskan native American tribe,
who will use the proceeds to help purchase their ancestral lands.
Our club meets every three weeks, where we discuss service activities,
fundraising for the club, and plan our yearly trip to a professional
sociology conference. This year we attended the Midwest Sociological
Society meetings in Chicago. We also have end of the semester socials,
where we meet at local restaurant to eat, drink, and have a good
time with friends! One of our future projects is the start up of
a brown bag series, where guest speakers will speak to sociology
majors on interesting research projects and other sociological issues.
See
some club photos!
So don't be anti-social ... come join our club! Please
send me an email if you have any questions about the sociology program
at Fort Hays State University.
Sincerely,
Ellen Fringer
