Welcome
to the Special Education web site…glad you dropped by to visit!
Although I am native to Western Kansas, I only recently returned
to live and work in Hays. I spent the major portion of my professional
career involved in teaching, research and educational/clinical
work in Canada. Following completion of my Ph.D., I was a professor
for
about 15 years at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Alberta,
Canada. Later I moved to Eastern Ontario where I worked in computer
applications with special needs groups, directed a research center
in normal and disordered communication, consulted with private
and
public schools and held an appointment at Queen’s University. Professionally,
I’m extremely interested in technological applications for children
and adults with special needs. I’m also quite excited and involved
with the development and delivery of quality distance education
through ITV and the web. I am a strong proponent that life-long
education should be accessible to all regardless of age, ability
or geographic location. Personally, I enjoy reading, travel and
golf…not necessarily in that order! I also grow some of the
hottest chile peppers west of the “Atlantic” and make salsa
that will “get
your attention!” Let us know if we can assist you in your Special
Education training needs.
