First-Year-Experience Program

The essential goal of the First-Year-Experience program is to maximize students' potential to achieve academic success and to adjust responsibly to the individual challenges presented by collegiate life. The program is designed to help new students at Fort Hays State University face their challenges and fears while providing students with support to overcome their obstacles. Students receive information and strategies that develop skills and attitudes necessary to assist them in the transition to college life and academic success at FHSU.

The First-Year-Experience program has three major components: New Student Orientation; T.I.G.E.R.S. Series program; and the First-Year-Residential-Experience in the residence halls.
