Fort Hays State University’s Hispanic American Leadership Organization, (HALO) was established in the Spring of 1992 to foster and perpetuate the traditions and customs of Hispanic culture throughout campus and the  community. HALO consists of active, motivated, and challenging FHSU Latino students who develop leadership skills and encourage academic excellence.

The goals and objectives of HALO are:
1. Representing our Latino community on and off campus.
2. Introducing and maintaining the Hispanic culture.
3. Making strong the Latino student recognition.
4. Developing and providing leadership skills for our members.
5. Helping our members in looking for professional opportunities
