FHSU SPS 2005-2006

Hays is located at the junction of I-70 and Highway 183 at about 38° 51′ 0″ N 99° 16′ 12″ W (Google map).

Directions and Maps

From I-70

Take Exit 159 to Highway 183 (aka Vine Street). You will find most of the hotels and fast food places in town along Vine Street.
You can also go directly to FHSU by taking Exit 157 and heading South.

From Highway 183

Go North or South until you get to Hays ;) Highway 183 runs straight through town (we call it Vine Street).

By Air

The Hays Regional Airport offers daily flights to and from Kansas City on US Airways Express and Denver on Great Lakes Airlines. There is an Avis location at the airport, and they have maps to get you into town.

How to get to Frontier Park

From Vine Street, head South until you get to the Highway 183 Bypass. This is the first and only red blinking light. Turn right (west) onto the Highway 183 Bypass. Take either the first or second right. This is the parking lot near the shelter we're cooking at. (Google map)

How to get to FHSU and Tomanek Hall

From Vine Street, find 13th Street and turn West. Take 13th until you come to Hall Street. It is the second stop light you come to. Turn South here, and follow Hall/Elm over the railroad tracks to the stop light. Turn right at the stop light and you will see FHSU straight ahead. Take the first left and you're on campus. Click here for a map. Note that while it looks much easier to take 8th Street straight to campus, 8th is currently closed from Elm to Fort for construction.

Once on campus, follow this map to get to Tomanek Hall. You won't need a parking permit, and you can park in any spot, even those marked for staff.

Lodging
Coming soon

We will be blocking rooms at a hotel soon. We will post the price and information here when we have it. Until then, you can check out the city's web site for information on all of the hotels in town.
