Recognized Student Organizations
How to Start Your New Organization!

Can't find a group that serves your interest? Why not just create one! Five students is all you need to get started!

Each student group desiring to be a Fort Hays State University (FHSU) organization must register through the Center for Student Involvement (CSI).

Please review the following steps carefully and ensure you have the necessary information to complete the registration process.

  1. Organization Profile: Contact information relevant to the organization will be required including name, description and meeting details.
  2. Organization Interests: Select the interests that your organization represents. These are used to recommend your organization to students with similar interests.
  3. Organization Profile Picture: Upload your organization logo or appropriate picture.
  4. Organization Membership Roster: Provide FHSU email address for all organization members. Minimum requirements for recognition are two officers (President and Treasurer), one on-campus advisor and three additional members who are full-time FHSU students. Please add or delete members as necessary to reflect your current membership. Officers must meet the 2.0 cumulative GPA requirement each semester.
  5. Constitution/Bylaws: Upload a copy of your current constitution and/or bylaws. It is recommended that your organization's constitution be reviewed and updated at least every four years.
  6. Review: Ensure all information is current and accurate.
  7. Submit: Registration will not be submitted for review until you click the submit button.
  8. Non-Discrimination & Grade Release Form: After your registration is reviewed, the President, Treasurer and Advisor will be contacted to complete the required non-discrimination and grade release forms. These forms must be completed within ten days or your registration will be frozen and removed from Tiger[Link].

Once all steps are completed, the President, Treasurer and Advisor will be notified via email that the registration process is complete.

*Please note it is expected that each organization strive to complete a minimum of 20 hours of campus/community service per year. Hours are reported to Tigers In Service (TIS) housed in the Center for Civic Leadership.

All registered student organizations are expected to comply with the policies of the CSI and Student Organizations Committee and those of the University.

Questions about the procedures for re-registration of student organizations can be directed to any staff member of the Center for Student Involvement.
