FHSU hosted a Chamber Chat in the Victor E. Lounge in Gross Coliseum. During the Chat, the TGOF Community Business Contest was kicked off. The contest ran from Jan. 11 through Feb. 15, 2013. The winning business received tickets to the March 1 game for up to 30 people. The evening began at 5 p.m. with a pre-game buffet dinner and drinks in the Victor E. Lounge. To enter the contest businesses were asked to submit photos on Facebook showing their employees wearing gold, or their business decorated to support TGOF.
The Fort Hays State University Tiger Gold on Fridays team, along with Eagle Communications, the Hays Chamber of Commerce and FHSU Athletics, sponsored a TGOF event at Cerv's, 27th and Vine, Oct. 19, 2012. Coupons for a Cerv's snoball were given out for those customers wearing Tiger Gold. Also, representatives from the FHSU TGOF team and FHSU Athletics handed out FREE tickets to a football game at Lewis Field Stadium.
TGOF was also a part of another recently created tradition -- the bonfire rally on the Thursday evening before Homecoming held on Oct 4, 2012. People were encouraged to bring shirts from other universities, which they can trade for a TGOF shirt. The shirts received as trade-ins were donated to community organizations if they were in good condition. Shirts that were not in good condition became fuel for the bonfire.
This event was planned in partnership with the Hays Area Chamber of Commerce, Eagle Communications and Golden Belt Bank. It was directed toward the greater community and included TGOF T-shirts for adults (free for the first 500 people) and children. The community event was Sept. 6, 2012 at the Robbins Center. Kids could sign up for the Tiger Kids Club and receive a free TGOF t-shirt courtesy of Golden Belt Bank. Eagle Communications provided music and a live remote. Victor E. Tiger and the FHSU Cheer Squad attended and provided face tattoos. Light refreshments were served.
August 31, 2012 - College Colors Day. Tigers were encouraged to wear Gold and Black to show their Tiger Spirit!
The first event was at the Back to School Picnic on Monday, Aug. 20, 2012 on the Quad. It included fun activities and a delicious and inexpensive picnic meal. Many visited the TGOF booth for a chance to win a free FHSU T-shirt.
