Quest Leadership Program

“It is better to lead from behind and to put others in front, especially when you celebrate victory when nice things occur. You take the front line when there is danger. Then people will appreciate your leadership.” Nelson Mandela

The primary goal of the Quest Leadership Program is to help students develop the knowledge, skills, and experience needed to lead others in achieving a common goal. There are numerous opportunities for students to participate in training initiatives centered on leadership concepts.

Core Requirements ~ Complete all five items listed below:

  1. Attend 15 designated Quest Leadership Program events
  2. Attend the spring LeadersShape Catalyst Retreat
  3. Attend workshops and lectures, including events with the Sebelius Lecture Series
  4. Reflect on your experiences to demonstrate growth
  5. Pass LDRS 300 Introduction to Leadership Concepts

There are many other experiences that promote leadership development, such as:

  • Taking a Leadership Studies course
  • Playing an active role in a student organization
  • Participating in intercollegiate athletics or a club sport
  • Becoming a First Year Experience or Learning Community Mentor
