Tigers in Service
This student-run program is designed to match volunteers with service opportunities in the Hays area. Sponsored by the Student Government Association, the Center for Civic Leadership, and the Office of Student Affairs, Tigers in Service is a clearinghouse for students with a desire to participate in community service activities.

Big Creek Clean-Up (2004)

Fort Hays State University’s Student Government Association (SGA) realized there was a need to clean up an area of our campus. Big Creek, which runs through FHSU’s campus, was very polluted with garbage and other debris. To correct this unsightly problem, SGA teamed up with Tigers In Service to coordinate a service project. Over 100 volunteers came together to clean up the creek, construct a walking path alongside the creek, and to plant flowers around the nearby gazebo. The project was such a success the first year, it was continued for two more national service days.
