student-run program is designed to match volunteers with service
opportunities in the Hays area. Sponsored by the Student Government
Association, the Center for Civic Leadership, and the Office
of Student Affairs, Tigers in Service is a clearinghouse for
students with a desire to participate in community service activities. |

BB/BS Games & Crafts and Alterra Sterling House Bingo
|
As part of the day of service honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ellis County, Tigers In Service, and Intramurals teamed up for a game day in Cunningham Hall Gym 121 from 3:30 p.m.-5:30p.m. Volunteers played basketball, volleyball, hula hoops and other games, as well as colored pictures and made other crafts with kids from around the Hays area. |
| Wendy's provided cookies and lemonade as refreshments. Fort Hays and Hays area Big Brothers and Big Sisters were able to bring their littles, and other FHSU volunteers were able to play with unmatched littles. There was a total of 75 participates, involving 35 volunteers at this event! NSCS, the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, was a big supporter of this event, having 10 members present to help throughout the day. |

| At Alterra Sterling House from 10-11 a.m. on MLK day 2007, seventeen FHSU volunteers played Bingo with more than a dozen residents. Volunteers played the game with the residents, called out numbers, and handed out prizes. Prizes for this day included flower pots made from simple service projects throughout the year by Tigers In Service volunteers. Several volunteers expressed interest in returning to play Bingo at the monthly Tigers In Service Bingo nights at Alterra throughout the year |
