Bachelor of Science in Computer Science

FHSU online Computer Science curriculum is designed to help you develop analytical problem-solving technical skills. Upon graduation, you will be ready to create software applications to efficiently solve complex, real-world problems. You are prepared for a career as a:

Our (on campus) graduates have been employed in a wide range of careers, including government agencies, insurance and finance institutions, medical industries, retail industries, school districts, and software companies.


The curriculum consist of three parts.

Part I: 55 credit hours of General Education courses. The following are required:

  1. INF 101 Computer Literacy (3 credit hours)
  2. MATH 110 College Algebra (3 credit hours)
  3. MATH Calculus Course (exact course still being determined)
  4. MATH 250 Elements of Statistics (3 credit hours)
  5. ECFI 201 Microeconomics (3 credit hours)


Part II: 39 credit hours of Major Course:

  • CSCI 261 Computer Science I (3 credit hours)
  • CSCI 345 Foundations of Computing (3 credit hours)
  • CSCI 361 Computer Science II (3 credit hours)

  • CSCI 369 Java Programming (3 credit hours)
