It is my pleasure to inform you that the English as a Second Language (ESOL) minor at the undergraduate level has now received final approval from the Kansas State Board of Education. Beginning in the fall of 2012, candidates may complete the minor coursework and the ESOL PRAXIS II exam; then apply for the ESOL endorsement from the Kansas State Department of Education. A teaching license at any level preK-12 must have already been secured or secured in conjunction with the minor to be able to add this endorsement to that license. Candidates who have previously earned an educational degree may add this undergraduate minor to their program of study up to two years following their FHSU graduate date. This minor means a great deal to our undergraduate candidates, as it enables them to better meet the needs of all students in our public and private preK-12 educational settings.
