Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science in Psychology

If you ever wanted to learn how the human mind works, and why people behave the way that they do, a major in Psychology may be perfect for you.

The Psychology Department offers flexibility by allowing students to choose either the Bachelor of Arts or the Bachelor of Science route. Although the core coursework is the same for both (listed below), there are some slight differences:

Bachelor of Arts: The BA degree requires completion of 10 hours of a modern foreign language.

Bachelor of Science: The BS degree requires completion of 20 hours of course work in Natural Sciences and / or Mathematics. General education courses completed in these areas can count toward this total.

The Department of Psychology has aligned the required courses with the American Psychological Association's standards and outcomes for the major.

BA in Psychology - Program Requirements Overview

General Education Requirements: 55 Credit Hours
Modern Language Requirements: 10 Credit Hours
Psychology Major Requirements: 42 Credit Hours
Free Electives: 17 Credit Hours

TOTAL HOURS REQUIRED FOR DEGREE: 124 Credit Hours

Math and Science Requirements (In addition to General Education Requirements): 7 Credit Hours
Psychology Major Requirements: 42 Credit Hours
