The primary difference between the standard and the military
offering is that the military offering is designed to be somewhat more
lab intensive and includes an additional project in each course. Both
series are designed to teach students internetworking skills and to
prepare students with the knowledge necessary to pass the CCNA
examination.
In each series, delivery is Internet based with text, graphics,
illustrations, and streaming audio and video. Students are provided
toll-free telephone, email, and chat room assistance from faculty and
tutors who have passed the CCNA. Students have the opportunity to
practice router configuration on Cisco routers using the Department of
Information Networking and Telecommunication's Virtual Lab.
Both options apply toward the Bachelors of Science in Information
Networking and Telecommunications with a Concentration in Computer
Networking and Telecommunications or the General Studies in Information
Networking and Telecommunications, the Bachelors of General Studies in
Information Networking and Telecommunications, or the 12-hour
Internetworking Certificate.
FHSU Certificate in Internetworking Students who enhance their studies by taking targeted course work in
Network Architecture and Data Communications increase their probability
of passing the CCNA examination and enhance their employability. A
student who has completed the CCNA prep-curriculum, INT 680 Network
Architecture and Data Communications I and INT 681 Network Architecture
and Data Communications II will earn the Fort Hays State University
Certificate in Internetworking. For information on the Department of
