Certificate in Leadership Studies

Fort Hays State University offers a variety of leadership programs for online students interested in enhancing their education with a specialized leadership component. Whether you add the Leadership Certificate to an online degree program or simply take the nine-hour sequence of courses for a stand-alone certificate, the Leadership Certificate Program will contribute to your personal and professional development.
 
Utilizing an interactive online format, this program introduces you to the basic components of leadership thinking. The curriculum focuses on the what, how, and why of leadership. In an effort to provide you a comprehensive experience, the Department of Leadership Studies has incorporated an online learning environment that includes both course activities and practical field experience. This combination of theory and practice allows you to reflect and then act upon what you have learned about effective leadership behavior.

Required Courses:

  • LDRS 300  Introduction to Leadership Concepts (3 Credit Hours)
  • LDRS 302  Introduction to Leadership Behavior (3 Credit Hours)
  • LDRS 310  Field Work in Leadership Studies (3 Credit Hours)

TOTAL HOURS REQUIRED FOR CERTIFICATE: 9 Credit Hours
