Post-9/11 Study Abroad Opportunity

The Post-9/11 GI Bill has the potential to allow many more American students with diverse backgrounds to study abroad. The Department of Veterans Affairs has issued an important clarification of its policies that will help veterans and campus administrators to better understand how the GI Bill benefits can be used to help cover the cost of certain study abroad activities. In guidance they issued, in response to questions we have been discussing with them, the VA addresses several of the ways that students can enroll in study abroad programs, and spells out what is eligible to be covered. The VA has just posted this guidance on its Post-9/11 GI Bill website, as a "Post-9/11 Study Abroad Fact Sheet": http://www.benefits.va.gov/gibill/docs/factsheets/post_911_study_abroad_fact_sheet.pdf
