Fees and Payment
Semester fees for the Western Kansas String Academy are based
on two possible levels of enrollment: Full-time or Saturday-only.
The Full-time status is for students needing a private instructor
arranged through WKSA. Saturday-only status is for students
who have made independent arrangements for private lessons.
(Remember—all WKSA students are required to take individual,
private lessons.)
Fees
The fee for full-time WKSA status is $150 per
semester. Cost includes the following:
•Auditions for orchestra placement (no
auditions for pre-orchestra)
•10 private lessons per semester with an Academy Instructor
•Orchestra/guitar class participation and performance
(10 rehearsals plus concert per semester)
•Exploratory Hour classes
•Educational Juries for advancement
•Musical / Social Activities
•WKSA T-shirt
•Additional Performance Opportunities as arranged by
staff
The fee for Saturday only Status
is $75 per semester. Cost includes all of the above except
the private lessons, which must be arranged independently
by the student, and verified by the student’s private
teacher.
Students paying for the entire year receive a 10% discount.
Payment
WKSA fees can be paid by check, money
order, or credit card. A minimum $25 non-refundable deposit
is required with
the student’s enrollment application for that semester,
and full payment of fees is expected by audition day.
An optional installment payment plan
is available. If you are interested in this option, please
consult a WKSA staff member on audition day.
Financial Assistance is available for
those who qualify. Contact
WKSA staff for more information.
