In 2001, Fort Hays State University embarked on a new and exciting chapter in its century long development as an academic institution in the state of Kansas. Having received the support of the Kansas Board of Regents, the University embraced a new model of accreditation called the Academic Quality Improvement Program (AQIP), in which member institutions pursue a track which seeks to adopt the guiding principles of continuous quality improvement as its guiding force. Fort Hays State University has accepted this challenge.
