Essay Competition
The Essay Competition is open to any FHSU student. The author of the selected essays will receive a $250.00 scholarship and their essay will be published on the CCL website. Honorable mention essays will be selected periodically and those authors will receive a $100.00 scholarship. Students may not receive more than one award in each category per academic year.
Essays must be authored by only one student and must be between three and five pages long, double-spaced, utilizing an easy to read 12-pt font. Essays must be written according to APA guidelines. The reference list (required) does not count toward the minimum page count (nor does a title page, if included).
The topic for the first 2020 CCL essay competition is: What is civic engagement and why does it matter?
