As Dean of the College of Business and Entrepreneurship at Fort Hays State University, I believe that our college exemplifies the university brand of "Forward Thinking, World Ready." I have the opportunity to lead a dynamic organization offering quality on-campus, domestic distance learning, and international academic degrees at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Our program's greatest strength is its dedicated faculty consisting of outstanding teachers well known for their work in academia and business. We offer a variety of programs - many whom have earned national recognition for their quality and innovation. We have highly successful alumni spread across the globe. Our on-campus facilities are among the best at any university. Additionally, we reach students world-wide through distance learning. We are continually a national leader in the adoption and use of new technologies.
Perhaps as important as any tangible asset is the culture of the FHSU College of Business and Entrepreneurship. It is a "can do" culture of entrepreneurship and innovation. Employers compliment the college on the excellent work ethic and skills of its graduates. I believe that also imbued in the culture is the very important value of human connection and support that reflects Kansas values. The same faculty member who may work students harder than they've ever worked in a class, may be the person who links them to excellent jobs, invites them to his or her house for breakfast or a barbeque, or sponsors them on a trip to meet prospective employers, or sends a note on hearing of the birth of their first child. We believe in connecting with our students for a lifetime.
We as faculty not only "talk the talk," but also "walk the walk" in providing quality education, adding to the scholarship of our respective fields, and serving the business and media communities of Kansas, the United States, and the world.
