Back by popular demand! With a unique combination of theory and experiential learning tools, this workshop focuses on five fundamental supervisory skills. Participants are taught a framework for developing their supervisory skills using a learning instrument, a hands-on game, and small-group activities.  
They learn about the five key skills and practice strategies within each of the skill areas: Guiding the Work, Organizing the Work, Developing Your Staff, Managing Performance, and Managing Relations.  

SHRM Professional Development

The Fort Hays State University Management Development Center is recognized by SHRM to offer Professional Development Credits (PDC's) for SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP. This program is valid for 7 PDC's for the SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP. For more information about certification or re-certification, please visit

This workshop is facilitated by  Mr. Seth Kastle, FHSU Leadership Studies Instructor, and Ms. Sabrina William, Director of the Management Development Center

Mr. Seth Kastle, Leadership Studies Instructor at FHSU. Seth has been with the Department of Leadership Studies since 2010. His primary teaching responsibility involves facilitating Leadership Studies courses at FHSU's partner institutions abroad. Seth retired from the Army Reserve as a First Sergeant in July of 2014. He is also currently pursuing his Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership from Baker University. Seth and his family live in the Hays area.

Ms. Sabrina William, is the Director of the Management Development Center (MDC), at FHSU. Sabrina has over 10 years of experience in economic development and has worked effectively in leading projects, organizing teams, managing organizational budgets and working within the guidance of boards. She enjoys meeting facilitation and work with non-profit organizations and in the past year began facilitating training and development workshops. She has a Master of Liberal Studies with a concentration in Organizational Leadership and a B.S. in Business Administration from Fort Hays State University.
