Our course combines expert instruction, the SHRM Learning System—the official certification prep tool, and supplemental materials on FHSU’s Learning Management System, Blackboard. These three tools are comprehensive and effective – and we know these are the elements that will prepare you for success on your SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP exam.

Our course is 100% online and on your own time. Like many, do you wish you could prepare for your SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP exam with the guidance of an expert instructor, without leaving home? Or struggle to make it to Zoom or Skype calls due to a busy schedule? We understand you’re a busy professional, so we’ve set up our course for maximum flexibility. And, don’t worry – there are plenty of opportunities to interact with your peers in the course and if you get stuck, our instructor is SHRM-certified and only a call or email away.

Meet Your Facilitator

Dr. LeAnn Brown, SPHR, SHRM-SCP is an Associate Professor of Management & Human Resources at Fort Hays State University, a leadership mindset coach and consultant, and co-founder of The Well-Center for Hope, a non-profit organization in Western Kansas. LeAnn has served in various leadership, human resources, and organizational development roles in higher education and industry and is a certified human resources professional through SHRM and HRCI. LeAnn received her PhD in Global Leadership with a concentration in Organizational Management from Indiana Tech and has published articles on topics related to organizational development and change, human resources, and global leadership. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, watching Kansas City Chiefs football, and vacationing at the beach.

How much does the MDC’s prep course cost? What does that cost include?

The MDC prep course costs $1250*

That cost includes your printed SHRM Learning Materials, access to the online SHRM learning system, supplemental material on Blackboard, and access to a SHRM-certified instructor to help you navigate the course. The cost of the prep course does not include the exam fees.

Early Bird (SHRM Member): $335 / Early Bird (non-SHRM member): $435

Are there any eligibility requirements needed to take the MDC’s prep course?

No! You can register in the MDC’s prep course regardless of your professional or educational certifications. However, there are eligibility requirements to take the SHRM exam.

How long is the prep course?

You have 12 weeks to work through all of the material with instructor support.

*We will not have any new content presented the week of Nov.20-24 due to fall break.

Do I attend sessions live?

No. All of the material is set up for independent-study style, which means you can login at your convenience and go at your own pace.

Live chats may be available with your instructor. Optional zoom sessions will be available with your instructor.

What if I don’t finish the prep course?

You have access to the printed SHRM Learning System forever. You will have access to the online SHRM Learning System for one year. You will have access to the supplemental material on Blackboard for four months after the course is finished. You will not have instructor support after the 12 week course has closed.
