The Alumni Association and the University Bookstore co-sponsor the GradFest and invite all members of the Class of 2016 to celebrate their upcoming graduation. Sign up for prizes, enjoy refreshments, pick up your regalia, purchase a Class of 2016 t-shirt and find information on everything you need to successfully navigate the graduation process.
Kansas Academy of Mathematics and Science Graduation - Memorial Union Ballroom
This is the fourth class of KAMS students to graduate. KAMS would love to have faculty and staff from across the university attend the ceremony.
Graduate School Honors Ceremony - TBA., Robbins Center
This event recognizes graduate education and research and creative activities at FHSU. The following activities are highlighted at this ceremony: (1) outstanding contributions of graduate assistants, (2) outstanding thesis and field studies and MFA catalogs, (3) outstanding work by graduate faculty advisors, (4) samples of research and creative activity excellence by graduating master's and education specialist students, and (5) recognition and promotion of research and creative activities during the past year. The event is open to all graduate students, graduate faculty, staff, and family members. No ticket is required for admission.
College of Health and Behavioral Sciences Faculty/Student Awards Reception - Black and Gold Room
This reception honors faculty and students in the College of Health and Life Sciences who have been recognized for achievement throughout the academic year.
College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences Honors Reception - Robbins Center
This reception is for those graduating with honors and those being honored by selected departments in the College of Arts and Sciences. Tickets are not required, but students are expected to RSVP to the department or college office inviting them.
Campus Tours - Sunset Lounge
Please join us at the Sunset Lounge in the Memorial Union for a campus tour. If you have never visited our campus, this is a perfect opportunity! The first session of tours will be from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and the second session will be from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. These tours are open to all students, friends and family. Tours are given courtesy of the Admissions Office.
Graduate and Faculty Luncheon - for Faculty and all Graduating Students - TBA., Fort Hays Memorial Union Ballroom
(To register, click here) Graduates are invited to join their classmates, professors, friends and family for the annual Graduate and Faculty Luncheon dedicated to recognizing and honoring all graduates and nominees for the Torch, Pilot, and Navigator awards. Each graduate will receive one complimentary ticket. Family and friends are welcome to join graduates at this event by purchasing tickets for $15.00 each on a first-come, first-served basis. Graduate who do not make reservations may attend ONLY on the basis of cancelled reservations and should contact Alumni Office at 785-628-4430. All tickets will be available at the registration table the day of the event.
Friday and Saturday Commencement Rehearsal - TBA 1:45 p.m., Gross Memorial Coliseum
This rehearsal is for all students who are graduating. All students planning to attend commencement receive formal instructions, so we highly recommend that all degree candidates attend this rehearsal.
Department of Nursing Pre-Commencement Recognition Ceremony - Beach/Schmidt Performing Arts Center, Sheridan Hall
This event recognizes the candidates for the BSN and MSN in nursing and other honors and awards. Parents, significant others, and friends are welcome. No tickets are required.
Friday Commencement - Friday, May 13, 2016, 6 p.m., Gross Memorial Coliseum
Master's and undergraduate degree candidates from the College of Business and Entrepreneurship, the College of Education, and the College of Technology, Science, and Mathematics.
Department of Informatics Capstone Convocation - Robbins Center
Informatics students will present their Capstone projects demonstrating the knowledge and skills they have developed during their university studies.
Virtual College Graduate Breakfast - Robbins Center
The Virtual College will host a Graduate Breakfast before the undergraduate Commencement Ceremony. This event is open to students who completed their last year of classes through the Virtual College. Invitations are sent to those who are eligible.
