TigerLink Curriculums
Healthy U

"The part can never be well unless the whole is well." Plato.

Wellness is a lifelong process and for college students, success in the classroom starts with living a healthy lifestyle outside the classroom. With this in mind, Fort Hays State University has developed a special Curriculum called Healthy U based on the five essential elements of well-being created by Tom Rath and Jim Harter.

Core Requirements ~ Complete two items in each of the five categories below

Purpose : "Liking what you do each day and being motivated to achieve your goals."

  • Attend a Work On Purpose workshop
  • Attend a T.I.G.E.R. Series Event
  • Complete the MyMajors Career Assessment
  • Pass UNIV 100 - Major and Career Explorations

Social : "Having supportive relationships and love in your life."

  • Title IV Training
  • Swipe in at ten (10) healthy behavior events as identified on TigerLink
  • Attend the Peer Mentor Institute

Financial : "Managing your economic life to reduce stress and increase security."

  • Register and complete SALT training
  • Have an on-campus job
  • Meet with a Financial Assistance Counselor
  • Complete Loan Entrance Counseling
  • Complete a CashCourse Learning Module

Community : "Liking where you live, feeling safe and having pride in your community."

  • Register and complete AlcoholEDU
  • Participate in an environmental, spiritual or residence hall related organization
  • Report 100 community service hours through Tigers In Service
  • Complete Safezone training
  • Complete a serviceship

Physical : "Having good health and enough energy to get things done daily."

  • Pass a personal wellness course
  • Get a health screening or physical
  • Participate in a fitness student organization
  • Participate on an FHSU athletic or intramural team
