Being active in sports helped me gain various social skills, teamwork skills and more. As I was going through the CPA testing process, I couldn’t help but think how incredibly lucky I was to have such good teachers and classes at Fort Hays. I prepare monthly financial statements, oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable clerks, payroll, multi-state sales tax filing, and fixed asset management. My accounting and finance technical skills learned at FHSU are put to use every day in my career. At FHSU, I was active in FMA/Finance Club, Accounting Club, Phi Kappa Phi and Omicron Delta Kappa. Through these, I formed leadership skills that greatly help me to excel in my current job. My superiors quickly recognized the responsibility and dependability skills I learned in college.
