Fall Family Day

Saturday, September 23, 2017

8 a.m. Check-in Opens
:  Sunset Lounge Atrium, Memorial Union
Families will pick up welcome bags, nametags, t-shirts, Family Day schedules, and tickets for the free brunch. Families can stop by any time between 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. to check-in.
 
8:30 - 11 a.m. Fishing Derby:  Hammond Hall Circle Drive
Free breakfast for the first 100 participants. Families will meet at the Hammond Hall Circle Drive.

10 a.m. - Noon MakerSpace: Forsyth Library, lower level
Families will be able to make simple circuits, build rockets, and learn about 3D printing.

9:30 - 11 a.m. Opening Brunch: Ballroom, Memorial Union
Students and families can enjoy a hearty brunch in a casual atmosphere. RSPVs are REQUIRED and due by Monday, September 18th. Use the form below to RSVP.

10 a.m. - 1 p.m. The Astounding Race: on the Quad
Students and families can learn about other countries and global issues. Sponsored by the Global Leadership Project and International Student Services.

1 p.m. Student Paint Up: Lewis Field Stadium
Students and families can come and have their faces painted to support their fellow Tigers! Sponsored by the University Activities Board (UAB).

1 p.m. Tailgate Meet & Greet with FHSU Fraternity/Sorority Life
FHSU Fraternity/Sorority Life will be hosting students at a Tailgate before the game to play games, grab some refreshments, and meet our fraternity and sorority chapters.

2 p.m. FHSU Tigers Football v. Northeastern State Kickoff: Lewis Field Stadium
Pick up your voucher for a discounted ticket when you check-in and get excited to cheer on our Tiger Football Team!

Registration is closed.
Reminder:  RSVPs must be received by 4 PM on Monday, September 18th.

 

Still have some spare time after the game? Here are some suggestions:

  • Have your student take you on a campus tour
  • Complete the campus photo scavenger hunt
  • Shop for FHSU gear at the Memorial Union Bookstore
  • Visity Dowontown Hays and grab a bite to eat
  • Have your student introduce you to their friends or their RA

 

 

 

Campus Photo Scavenger Hunt 
Make sure to post your photos to social media with the hashtag #FortHaysFamilyDay. Take a photo (preferably a family photo) at each location:

  • Tiger statue outside of the Memorial Union
  • In front of Picken Hall
  • At one of the FHSU Campus entrance signs
  • At your student's primary academic building
  • At an information kiosk
  • BONUS: with Victor E. Tiger

Residential Life and the Office of Transition and Student Conduct welcome Little Siblings to the Fort Hays State University campus. This will be a joint event; both on-campus and off-campus students and their siblings are invited to participate, however, only on-campus students will be able to stay in the residence halls overnight with their siblings. There will be no registration fee, the weekend is primarily focused toward the 4-10 year old age range. Registration is CLOSED.
