Why Join Horizons Multicultural Orientation Program?
   Gain practical leadership experience planning, and coordinating a University sponsored mentorship program
   Network and connect to University administrators, faculty, and staff.
   Give back to your community and increase retention rates for nontraditional students at the Fort Hays State University
   Connect to members of your community in meaningful ways

Mentee Responsibilities
   Attend monthly follow-up meetings---not permitted to miss more than two (2) meetings per semester
   Attend mandatory orientation in August
   Plan one (1) activity during the fall semester with mentor
   Participate in one (1) Horizons program per month during fall semester
   Maintain records of meetings with mentor
   Complete program evaluations

The Horizons Multicultural Student Orientation is dedicated to fostering academic and social success among freshmen in practical, immediate and meaningful ways. It also aspires to build community within the underrepresented student body through encouraging social engagement and organizational participation.
