Background:

Jason has a diverse background working in telecommunications and computer networking. As a student worker, he helped manage the department’s NETLAB+ system which provides remote lab access for Cisco, VMware, EMC, and Microsoft courses. He continues to manage that system today.

While studying at FHSU, Jason served as president and vice president of the Advanced Technology Student Organization (ATSO) for many years, along with organizing the Information Assurance Student Organization (IASO) and serving as president. It was through these student organization he met with industry professionals and employers. He also worked as a graduate teaching assistant during his master’s program.

In industry, Jason has worked for Rural Telephone and Nex-Tech as a Helpdesk technician and later a Research and Development technician. During this time, he began contracting for Network Development Group, creators of NETLAB+. He was later hired as a Senior Product Engineer and responsible for creating and writing curriculum and lab content for use in colleges worldwide. He maintained their datacenter and organized training for instructors and administrators in using NDG products in the classroom.

Jason has been part of the adjunct faculty at FHSU since Fall of 2013 and continues serve on the department’s Advisory Council.
