Dr. Roger Schieferecke became  the Director for the Kansas Academy of Mathematics and Science in June of 2014. Dr. Schieferecke received his B.A. in Communication in 1995 from Fort Hays State University. He then went on to receive his M.S. in Communication, also from Fort Hays State University, in 1998. In 2009, Dr. Schieferecke received his Doctorate of Education in Adult and Higher Education from the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, South Dakota. Before coming to the Kansas Academy of Mathematics and Science, Dr. Schieferecke was Director of Enrollment Services at the University of Louisiana and Director of Admissions at Fort Hays State University.  Dr. Schieferecke resides in Hays, Kansas, with his wife, Stephanie, and son.

Dr. Schieferecke is a member of the Kansas Association for the Gifted, Talented, and Creative (KGTC), the National Association of Personnel Administrators (NASPA) and the National Consortium of Secondary STEM Schools (NCSSS).

Alexandra “Alex” Shaw became the Assistant Director of Student Services and Academic Advising for the Kansas Academy of Mathematics and Science in August of 2015.  Ms. Shaw received her B.A. in Communications from Carson-Newman College in 2004.  She then went on to receive her Masters of Science in Education at Fort Hays State University in 2014.  She is currently working towards her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Baker University. Ms. Shaw bring five years of experience at Fort Hays State University in the Department of Residential Life.  She resides in Hays, Kansas, with her husband, Craig, and two daughters.

Ms. Shaw is a member of the Kansas Association for the Gifted, Talented, and Creative (KGTC), the National Association of Personnel Administrators (NASPA) and the National Consortium of Secondary STEM Schools (NCSSS).

Ann Noble became the Financial Administrator for the Kansas Academy of Mathematics and Science in 2008. She received her B.A. in Accounting in 2005 from Fort Hays State University. Prior to that time, Ms. Noble worked in the Agriculture Department and the College of Education and Technology at Fort Hays State University. She resides in Hays, Kansas, with her husband, Warren and has three adult children and four grandchildren.

Ms. Noble is the Treasurer for the Kansas State Science and Engineering Fair (KSSEF) Board, a member of the Kansas Association for the Gifted, Talented, and Creative (KGTC), the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA), and the National Consortium of Secondary STEM Schools (NCSSS).  She is also the Financial Administrator of the Science and Mathematics Education Institute (SMEI).

Mr. Jared Cook became the Kansas Academy of Mathematics and Science Coordinator for Marketing and Recruitment in the Spring of 2016. In this role, he helps develop intentional partnerships with high schools and organizations to promote the intellectual capital of Kansas.  Jared graduated in 2013 with a B.S. in Psychology from Rochester Institute of Technology. His experiences include working with at-risk youth at private institutions in New York, Washington, and Vermont. Mr. Cook is currently pursuing a M.S.E. in Higher Education Student Affairs at Fort Hays State University in Hays, KS.  His anticipated graduation date is May, 2016. Jared resides in Hays, Kansas.

Melissa Mayers became the Office Assistant for the Kansas Academy of Mathematics and Science in July of 2011. Ms. Mayers received her  B.B.A. in Business from Fort Hays State University in 2001. She resides in Hays, Kansas, with her husband, John, and two daughters.

Ms. Mayers is a member of the and the National Consortium of Secondary STEM Schools (NCSSS) and the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA).

Ms. Regina Tolbert became the Graduate Assistant for the Kansas Academy of Mathematics and Science in January of 2016; also serving as the KAMS Summer Academy Director.  She received her BA in Human Resource Management in 2015 from Kansas Wesleyan University. She is currently working towards her Masters of Science in Education with an emphasis in Higher Education Student Affairs.  Regina resides in Hays, Kansas.

 

Ms. Maureen Duffy

Ms. Maureen Duffy joined the Kansas Academy of Mathematics and Science in January of 2016 as graduate practicum student focused on student success and advising.  Maureen received her BS in Physical Therapy in 1984 from the State University of New York at Buffalo and worked as a physical therapist for 26 years before returning to the classroom.  She received her BA in Organizational Leadership from FHSU in 2014 and will complete her MSE in HESA in December 2016.  She is a member of the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA). Maureen resides in Hays with her dog, Rosie.

 

 

 

We Couldn't Do It Without Them....Our Student Workers

 

Kyleigh Bartlett is a student worker for the Kansas Academy of Mathematics and Science, which she began in the Summer of 2015. Kyleigh originates from Kansas City and is majoring in Elementary Education.  

Samantha Rohleder is a student worker for the Kansas Academy of Mathematics and Science, which she began in August of 2014. Samantha originates from Hays and is majoring in Public Relations. 

Preston Ryan is a student worker for the Kansas Academy of Mathematics and Science, which he began in August of 2013. Preston originates from Hays and is majoring in Engineering.
 
Reinette Strydom is a student worker for the
Kansas Academy of Mathematics and Science, which she began in the Fall of 2015. Reinette originates from Holdredge, Nebraska and is majoring in Radiology.
