Information for Prospective International Students:

  • KAMS is a residential learning experience for exceptional students equivalent to United States high school juniors and seniors with interest in mathematics and science on the Fort Hays State University (FHSU) campus in Hays, Kansas, USA

Students will receive:

  • College instruction by doctoral-level faculty and 68 hours of college credit
  • Hands-on research supervised by doctoral-level scientists
  • Leadership development & civic engagement opportunities
  • Co-curricular & extra-curricular opportunities to develop the whole student

Student living environment includes:

  • Living space in the Custer Residence Hall on the FHSU campus
  • Residence Hall rooms will be shared by two KAMS students
  • Males and females will reside on different wings of Custer Hall
  • FHSU offers a safe campus and residential environment
  • Trained support staff will live in the residence halls with students

Students will be supervised by the staff which includes:

  • Evening curfews
  • Permission to leave campus
  • Regulated visitation by guests

Students will be responsible for payment of the following. Students will be required to have a credit card when they arrive as a means of payment.

  •   Computer & Printer

 Academic Requirements include:
Candidates must have ONE of the following minimum TOEFL scores:

  • Paper-based test (pBT) score of 540 or
  • Computer-based test (cBT) score of 220 or
  • Internet-based test (iBT) score of 70  

*IELTS composite score of 6 required

  •  Average TOEFL score 95-108
  •  Average entering GPA 3.85
  •  Average outgoing ACT 30

Estimated, Approximate  Costs for the 2017-2018 academic year include:

     $15,604.32       Tuition & Fees (16 credit hours/semester)
          1,400.00       Books and supplies
         7,853.00        Double room and board (9 months, open-access meal plan)
         1,500.00        Health insurance (required)
             100.00       One time FHSU application fee, Orientation fee, and Student ID Card Fee
              40.00         Residence Life Application fee
         1,000.00        Miscellaneous and personal expenses (laundry, entertainment, clothing, etc.)
