Covid-19 Update - Status of Kelly Center Services

FHSU and the Kelly Center have taken proactive steps to help minimize the spread of Covid-19. As we work to support students, faculty, and staff during this challenging time, please note the following important aspects of our service delivery:
Health and Safety Protocols
- In accordance with university policy, all employees, students, and visitors must wear a cloth face covering/mask while at the Kelly Center. If you arrive without a cloth face covering/mask, one will be provided to you.
- Whenever possible, please practice safe social distancing--keep at least 6 feet from others at all times while at the Kelly Center.
- Please monitor your health prior to utilizing an onsite Kelly Center service. If you are experiencing fever, difficulty breathing, chills, cough, new loss of smell or taste, headache, sore throat, or muscle pain, please reschedule your appointment and contact your healthcare provider.
- The Kelly Center office is open during normal business hours. While we welcome inquiries, please help us minimize office traffic by calling us for information and scheduling requests rather than coming directly to our office.
Counseling Services
- The Kelly Center is available for counseling services during normal business hours. Onsite services will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
- Telehealth appointments will be conducted by phone or video during normal business hours. If phone or video consultations are not feasible, please contact our office.
- If you are participating in Telehealth services, please review the Kelly Center Informed Consent for Telehealth.
- Due to licensure requirements established by the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board, Telehealth services are limited to clients located in the state of Kansas at the time of the counseling appointment.
- Consultations for FHSU Online students residing outside of the state of Kansas are available by contacting our office. You can also visit our Resources for FHSU Online Students page for additional sources of help.
- Visit our Self-Help and Screenings page for handouts and videos on a variety of student concerns and mental health topics to help address your needs.
Accessibility Services
- Accessibility services for students with disabilities are available during normal business hours. Onsite services will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
Tutoring Services
- Peer tutoring services are available in person and by Zoom video. Additionally, the university has online tutoring available through Smarthinking.
Testing Services
- The Prometric Testing Center is OPEN. Face coverings/masks are required.

TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition - Testing Services other examination programs are OPEN (ACT On-Campus--formerly Residual, CLEP, DSST, KNAT, MAT, and exams available through the Scantron and PSI True Talent affiliations). Face coverings/masks are required.
- The status of national test dates for ACT, GRE Subject Tests, LSAT, and SAT are determined by the testing company. Visit our Test Information Page for links to official testing agency websites.

If you are in crisis, please visit our crisis support page for additional sources of help. For on-campus emergencies that occur after business hours, call our office at 785-628-4401. You will be connected with a crisis specialist who can speak with you over the phone and assist in arranging follow-up care if needed.
