Leadership Studies Association Hosted Etiquette Training

On September 11, 2012, Leadership Studies Association hosted the fall 2012 Etiquette Dinner/Meet the Firms Social for current Fort Hays State University students.

The event began at 6:00 p.m. in the Stouffer Lounge when students had the opportunity to introduce themselves and mingle with employers. After the social, students and employers then moved into the Black and Gold room at 6:30 for a five course meal and etiquette presentation by Gail Kuehl, local business owner of Kuehl Operations.

The purpose of the event was two-fold; as students were able to improve both their confidence in meeting and networking with potential employers, while learning valuable etiquette skills.

The Etiquette Dinner and Meet the Firms Social only cost students five dollars to attend, which included the five course meal. This was made possible by financial contributions from Career Services, the Leadership Studies Association, and the Department of Leadership Studies. Over 45 people attended the event. A wide variety of academic majors were represented at the event, ranging from Organizational Leadership, to Business, Finance, and Management, as well as Psychology.

If you would like to get involved in Leadership Studies Association, please consider joining them at one of their next meetings. The group will meet on Monday, September 17 or Monday, October 8. The group meets at 7:00 pm in the Tigers' Den, which is located in the Custer Hall basement.
