ROAR Professional Development Program

 "A Tiger's Place is in the Jungle"TM

In the Department of Management and Marketing, we’ll help you develop the knowledge and skills necessary to be successful in the jungle known as the business world. In the business world, if your knowledge and skills are not fully developed, you will quickly become part of the food chain. With the ROAR program you will know that you have developed the skills to compete successfully in the business jungle. We know that Tigers should always be at the top of the food chain.

RRelevant Coursework. You will take a variety of classes with professional development and experiential learning opportunities that will help you develop the skills you need to be successful. For example, in MGT 101 you develop foundational teamwork and business skills to prepare you for upper-division business courses, in MKT 301 you develop a self-marketing plan, in BCOM 301 you prepare written reports and deliver oral presentations, and in MGT 499 you participate in team-based analysis in a competitive business environment.

OOnline Portfolio. You will showcase your class projects in an online portfolio. This will demonstrate your achievement and mastery of departmental learning objectives with a major or concentration focus, and could be shared with potential employers.

AApplied Opportunities. In addition to your classes, you will participate in other professional development activities such as internships, workshops, practitioner roundtables, and presentations by executives in residence.
