FHSU Shooting Team to host competition

Fort Hays State University's Shooting Team will host its sixth annual Open Collegiate Clay Target Competition this weekend, Sept. 20-21.

The competition is a 400-target event consisting of American skeet and skeet doubles, American trap and trap doubles, and Wobble trap (a simulation of Olympic trap). The event is expected to be the largest ever hosted at Fort Hays State, with an estimated 80 collegiate participants representing 12 colleges and universities.

Those expected to participate are Fort Hays State University, Wichita State University; Connors State College, Warner, Okla.; Oklahoma State University, Stillwater; Trinidad State University, Trinidad, Colo.; the University of Central Missouri, University of Missouri, Warrensburg; Colorado State University, Fort Collins; the University of Colorado, Boulder; Hastings College, Hastings, Neb.; the University of Wyoming, Laramie; and Tarleton State University, Stephenville, Texas.

The competition will be at the Hays City Sportsman's Club, 5810 230th Ave., near Celebration Church. The public is welcome to attend.
