FHSU to kick off holiday season with annual tree-lighting ceremony

Fort Hays State University will start the holiday season with the annual tree-lighting ceremony at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, in front of Sheridan Hall on the FHSU campus.

Special features will include season greetings from President Mirta M. Martin, performances by the Dickens Carolers, the announcement of the annual coloring contest and hayrack rides.

Santa will also make a special appearance with a sack full of toys. Following the ceremony, hot chocolate and cookies will be served in Sheridan Hall's Dreiling Lobby.

This event is sponsored by FHSU Greek Life, the International Student Service office, the Office of the President, the University Activities Board and Wendy's Restaurants.
