FHSU senior interning at Ellis County Extension Service

Fort Hays State University senior Trisha Penning is spending her final summer before graduation working as an intern at the Kansas State Research and Extension Service for Ellis County.

Penning, an animal science major from Atchison, has been busy this week helping with the Ellis County Fair.

Penning first came to Fort Hays State as a 16-year-old high school junior, as a student in the Kansas Academy of Mathematics and Science. Penning was the top pick among this year's applicants for the summer internship and is the first KAMS graduate who has interned at the local Extension Service.
